Home: The Grand View. 3,800 sq. ft. Penthouse. Finance: Wealthy History: Logan grew up the only child to a wealthy and influential set of parents in Boston, MA. - old money, old lawyers, old ideals. He was a typical spoiled rich boy - money, girls, and sports. He was more than a bit of a jock, but he was a smart and idealistic one with one hell of a smile and a lot of faith in himself. He graduated college and enrolled in law school at the same school he'd gotten his undergrad degree (Boston College). While he was a law student (1995) he hooked up with Amnesty International and became more and more involved with them. When he got his degree he moved to Florida to be in a better position for travel, and to help with people entering and exiting the country. He slowly built up his own network of contacts, both inside and outside AI. Six months ago (9-10-06) he went overseas working for them in Iraq. He was supposed to be there for three months. The week before he was due to return home he was shot in the back(12-5-06). The bullet blew out his spinal cord and left him paralyzed from about the waist/hips down. His condition was stabilized and he was sent back home to Jackson Memorial Hospital, right on time (12-12-06). Surgery was followed by intensive physical and occupational therapy, and three months after being shot (March 7) Logan was allowed to return home to his apartment. He has live in professional help at the moment. His ability to pay for that help is why he was released so early from rehab. He'll be getting the guy out of his house as soon as possible but has no intention of stopping PT any time soon. His level of injury is L2 complete. It's often impossible to make a precise prognosis right away. Recovery typically starts between a week and six months after injury, if it occurs, with the majority of improvement taking place within one year. Any impairment remaining after 12 to 24 months is likely to be permanent (From here). That does not mean Logan will walk again - he won't, he knows it and his doctors know it. It just means that his diagnosis and prognosis aren't defined down to the details, yet. His emotional and mental state are typical Logan - he's pissed off, bitter, depressed, and too stubborn to be held down. He's working hard, gritting through, and burying himself in his work for Amnesty International - which fortunately can be carried on via telecommunications. He has not yet returned to his law firm and isn't at all sure he wants to. He is considering quite seriously becoming a public defender and adding public relations and/or research to the work he does with Amnesty International's legal network. The more he has to keep him busy the better. History: Logan Cale was a wealthy and idealistic cyber-journalist who ran an underground information feed that was the only source of truth in a future, and very corrupt, America. He was in his early 30s, was married once but divorced because of his wife's drinking problem. In 2019 Logan was using his apartment to protect a source and her daughter. They were to give information about a very evil entrepreneur -Edgar Sonrisa - that would put him away for life. Edgar's men kidnapped the daughter, Sophy, and shot Logan in the back. His sacrifice allowed Lauren to escape, but Logan was paralyzed from the waist down. It was during this time that he met Max, and became involved in her search to find the children of her squad whom had escaped Manticore. For the next two years they danced around each other - and the wheelchair, and a genetically engineered virus that prevented them from touching. The romance never quite got worked out, but the friendship did - mostly. Eyes Only was uncovered toward the end ending both his broadcast and making it impossible for him to return to his apartment. He walked briefly with the aid of a blood transfusion from Max, then a cybernetic exoskeleton, and again after another blood transfusion from Joshua, but presumably he lost the use of his legs again. He lost a lot - almost everything. What he didn't lose was his idealism and his belief that the world should, and could, be better than it was.
